WHILE YOU’RE BUSY MAKING CHRISTMAS SPECIAL FOR EVERYONE ELSE… GIVE YOURSELF A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SURPRISE TOO
Christmas has always been one of my favourite times of the year.
I love everything about it — the decorations, the festive fabrics, the excitement of giving handmade gifts, and the special memories created with family and friends.
But if you’re anything like me, Christmas can also be one of the busiest times of the year. There are gifts to buy or make, presents to wrap, meals to plan, visitors to organise, and countless little details that somehow seem to land on our shoulders. As quilters, wives, mothers, grandmothers and carers, we’re often the ones working behind the scenes to make Christmas feel magical for everyone around us.
And while there’s great joy in doing that, it’s easy to spend so much time looking after everyone else that we forget to leave a little space for ourselves.
A few years ago, I realised something. The children had Advent Calendars they were excited to open each morning. The grandchildren had Advent Calendars too. Even my husband had discovered a craft beer Advent Calendar that he looked forward to every day in December.
But as a quilter, there was nothing special waiting for me each morning. Nothing creative. Nothing that felt like a small Christmas gift just for me.
That’s when the idea for the Quilter’s Christmas Advent Calendar was born.
I wanted to create something especially for quilters who love Christmas, creativity, handmade traditions and the simple joy of a daily surprise. Something that would bring a little excitement to each December morning and provide a welcome moment of inspiration during one of the busiest seasons of the year.
Because while we’re busy creating Christmas magic for everyone else, it’s nice to have something special to look forward to as well.
